SLANTED APPLE FARM

Slanted Apple Farm is an historic apple and pear orchard located on beautiful Orcas Island in the

San Juan Islands of Washington State. The farm began in 1879 as one of the original fruit orchards planted in the islands during a time when this area was rich with agriculture. Prohibition took its toll on many of these properties when regulations banned the pressing or preserving of the fruit.  Unfortunately, for many decades, the orchard went uncared for.  We have spent the last six years restoring and replanting this island gem, using organic farming and orcharding methods.  We take great pride in delivering local, organic produce that is used by Orcas Island chefs and artisans. The breathtaking property is now home to 140 fruit trees, five goats, four cats, seven ducks, and 44 chickens. We managed to keep over twenty of the original trees, some now 140 years old. These "old girls" have seen a lot of history on this property, and we hope to add a new and exciting chapter to that history as we expand to events and weddings.  With a breathtaking waterfront site, two event sites and three rental houses, Slanted Apple Farm is the perfect spot for your wedding, event or family reunion.  We have loved every second we have spent on the farm, and know that it is a place that where guests will fully come to understand the beauty and magic of Orcas Island.
